Main Event Show 3/4/00 A great evening to spend with our favorite group. Perfect weather,
and a packed house. And I mean packed. Lots of
fab pictures are on it's way. Similar song set to St Louis with one major exception, they
played As Far As You Can See, As Much As You Can Feel at the end, something A #1 fan
(Dave)has been asking Owl to play. There was also one new song from Jim Johnson, Living the Hard
Way. Photo left to right: Bob Jones, Dave Mueller (A #1 fan). Chico is in background Send information/comments to Scott
Some highlights:
* Ida Rosenbaum was guest of honor. Next album is dedicated to Rico.
* Meeting Randy Cates and his wife from Texas.
* Dave Mueller and Ida Rosenbaum singing (at their table) together on Blind Man.
* From Diane: After the set, Rico's mom came up to Al Mevissen and said
"You did good job, replacing my son. I close my eyes and I can hear him through you".
Wow, the highest form of praise.
* As Far As You Can See... played as 2nd encore and last song of the night.
* Band signed a lot of vinyl that evening!
* Owl thanked (on stage) Dave Mueller as "Biggest Gypsy Fan".
* Owl thanked yours truly for the Gypsy Tribute Page.
Dave Mueller offered the opinion that this was the best show yet.
A truly nice evening with two exceptions. I wish there was new music for sale. And
I wish it could have been worked out to have Mr Cates play.
