RANDALL CATES:

Mr. Cates played bass on the third and fourth albums. Randy lives in Texas with his wife and family.

Randy started out in Fort Worth, sold everything and moved to LA. He was playing at the "Brass Ring" club with Bill Lordan when he first met Rico and Owl. Gypsy hired Lordan and later hired Randy. Willie Weeks (bass) had left Gypsy to play with Donny Hathoway.
After Gypsy disbanded, Randy went back to Texas to play with the Stratoblasters for five years. The Stratoblasters toured with Rolling Stones and Albert Collins and played a party for the Stones with Keith Richards sitting in.

April 2004: Currently, Randy is running a jewelry business in Texas and plays with Johnnie Red and Landon Sprandlin. He re-formed the Stratoblasters for the Dallas guitar show in April of 2004. He has a special focus on Christian music.
